6-1-2018 0 QSOs EAST antenna stopped working several weeks ago and the TOP antenna now not turning. Just a tad bit !@#$%. If I can get the top moving I will be more active. NG3W, Chris has checked out the tower from ground level and there may be some binding up top. The tower seems to have a bow above the 130 foot level.

Slowly getting back on the air.. A little stress in my life caused me to be admitted to the hospital. Much testing and the results were all good. I will slow down a little on the 205MorningReport. Trying to keep up with all is adding to my overall stress level. For now, I will be looking for more interesting things to include in the report. My QUEST to 10,000 QSOs continues and I will minimally post my daily logs.

5-9-2018 17 QSOs

A red blob caused by a stagnant high with an approaching low made for great conditions from VE1 to the Carolinas. My INTERNET turned into an INTERNOT at 8:10 AM.

5-8-2018 24 QSOs

The rotator for the top antenna has been giving me trouble. The position sticks and often moves a bit CCW and CW and then decides its had enough… The problem seems to occur in random directions… Now it moves between 177 and 140.  I hope tomorrow it decides to cooperate. The small antennas allow me to operate but I sure miss moving it to the DX….

It was great getting K8TQK in my log today. Bob has had his share of problems. The rotators are not reliable and a computer is also not working. Bob found the first aide kit and worked a few today.

Linda and I back from Connecticut. Nice to see some predictability in the weather. Seven day forecast all the same… high 88 degs and sunny! The trip was great. 379 QSOs all Digital or CW on 2 meters adding 23 UNIQUE stations from 10 new GRIDS to the growing 2018 LOG. Thanks to all for the special efforts to get in my log. Non CW stations KC1BBU, KJ4MCZ, KD8JQ and WB8UJS all made special efforts to work me on CW.

Wow! GRIDS continue to grow.. N2CB, Harv EN75 GRID 89, KB7IJ, Rich EM12 TX GRID 90 and N5OSK, Jerry EM25 OK GRID 91. Rich and Jerry were both M/S. Rich reports the 1200+ mile QSO was his all time longest running 8 elements at 47 feet and 650 watts.

4-28-2018 3 FT8, 5 MSK144 8 total QSOs

Got off to a late start this morning.. Too much partying (yesterday was Linda’s and My 50th wedding anniversary) I made a 1 min QSO with Arliss, W7XU in SD and thought I might be successful with N5SD, Steve  EM27 KS. Steve was running 25 watts and a Cushcraft boomer up 35 feet. Thanks for GRID #88 in 2018 on 2 meters.

4-27-2018 18 CW, 4 FT8, and 4 MSK144 24 total QSOs

The last several mornings I have been spending some time on MSK144 meteor scatter. Not being able to use SSB, MSK144 and FT8 have helped me stay ahead of the curve on the QUEST to 10,000. This new mode has opened up new GRID opportunities as well. I think I added 6 new GRIDS that I will confirm when I get back to Florida and my official log. The new GRIDS are W7XU EN13 SD; W9LYX EN54 WS; KA9CFD EN40 IL; KB8W EN57 MI; KN4OK EM64 AL; and K5DOG EM00 TX.  Todays QSO with K5DOG was 1370 miles and elevated this years tropo grid count to 87.

4-26-2018 12 CW, 11 FT8 and 3 MSK144 26 total QSOs

4-25-2018 16 CW, 7 FT8 and 1 MSK144 24 total QSOs

4-24-2018 Linda and I are still at the hotel in Connecticut. No voice QSOs until I get back to Florida. Today was my best day on the Quest to 10,000. 19 CW, 15 FT8 and 2 MSK144 QSOs. 36 total…. thanks to all for the noise!

Linda and I will be going to Connecticut 4-12-2018 for a few weeks. Please look for me on 144.205 CW or 144.174 FT8.
